Lakefield Community Easter Blessing Supports Local Families

Lakefield Youth Unlimited is holding their annual Lakefield Community Easter Blessing campaign to provide for local families in need. LYU in partnership with the Lakefield Community Food Bank and St. John's Anglican Church is accepting donations of $25 grocery gift cards, cash or cheque, and non-perishable food items.


The goal this year is to reach $2,500 in grocery gift cards to help provide local families with food for Easter meals. In 2022, the campaign served 54 individuals.


Donations can be dropped off at the LYU Barn, 25 Bridge Street in Lakefield on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Outside of office hours, donations can be left in the black lock box to the left of the front door.


Cash donations can also be made online at https://yfc.ca/lakefield/donate/ or by e-transfer to donate@youthunlimitedkaw.com (designate donations as Easter Blessing). Please submit donations by Thursday, March 30th at 2 p.m.



Suggested Non-Perishable Items Include:

  • Canned Fish

  • Canned Fruit and Vegetables

  • Juice

  • Mac & Cheese

  • Mayonnaise

  • Peanut Butter

  • Dish Detergent

  • Shampoo

  • Tooth Brushes

  • Tooth Paste

  • Laundry Soap

  • Toilet Paper

Donations will be distributed through local schools, outreach workers, and the Lakefield Community Food Bank to help provide food to local families for Easter meals. After Easter, any remaining gift cards will be used to support families as needed.
